The following information will need to added on the create warehouse screen:

  1. In the Description field, enter the name of the warehouse. Select the states to which that warehouse will be associated. For example, if you have selected Florida as a state associated with this warehouse, when you are shipping to Florida, any products that have been selected as available in this warehouse will be assigned to this warehouse by default.
  2. Allow Orders – check this box if orders are to be fulfilled from this warehouse
  3. Transit – This is used for moving inventory from one warehouse to another for order fulfillment. NOTE: If this box is checked on warehouse creation, it cannot be unchecked when editing the warehouse in the future.
  4. Warehouse address – This is the address of the warehouse itself, since this can be a different location than the home office.
  5. State Defaults – Check the states that are to default to this warehouse. This allows for the warehouses to be assigned to states or regions. Ex: Warehouse A, is assigned to states: Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and Louisiana. A user placing an order with a shipping address state of Florida would pull inventory from Warehouse A. NOTE: the shipping address state will be used on the order to determine warehouse assignment.

If certain International Features are enabled in your system, select the Countries to which this warehouse will be associated.  For example, if you have selected Mexico as a country associated with this warehouse, when you are shipping to Mexico, any products that have been selected as available in this warehouse will be assigned to this warehouse by default.
