Setting up Bulk Discounts

A product can be set up with to have bulk discounts. If you provide price incentives to those customers that purchase in bulk, you would use this feature. Please see below for example.

On the inventory profile screen from the product that you would like to set up a bulk discount form click on New Discount.

This will bring you to the New Bulk Discount screen.

Applies to: elect whom the discount will apply to from the drop down menu. The discount can be for just a customer, a distributor, or both.

Quantity: From the table on the previous page, you will see that there is no bulk discount given if a customer/distributor purchases 1-2 shirts. However if a customer/distributor purchases 3-5 shirts, a 10% discount is given. So on the quantity field, you would enter the first quantity that the discount applies. In this example, I would enter 3 for the quantity. If a customer/distributor purchases 6-11 shirts, a 15% discount is given. So on the quantity field, you would enter the first quantity that the discount applies. In this example, I would enter 6 for the quantity. If a customer/distributor purchases 12+ shirts, a 20% discount is given. So on the quantity field, you would enter the first quantity that the discount applies. In this example, I would enter 12 for the quantity.

Amount: For this field, you would enter the dollar amount that will be discounted from the original price. If a customer/distributor purchases 3-5 shirts, a 10% discount is given. So the dollar amount off would be $1.00. If a customer/distributor purchases 6-11 shirts, a 15% discount is given. So the dollar amount off would be $1.50. If a customer/distributor purchases 12+ shirts, a 20% discount is given. So the dollar amount off would be $1.50.

Alter Volume: If this is a product that receives CV and you would like to alter the CV accordingly with the discount in price, you will select yes on this dropdown.

Enabled: If you check this box, the discount will be enabled.

In this example, once you have set up your products, you should see the following setup below on the inventory item profile screen:
