The Limit level feature will allow you to notify your users of back ordered items if they have selected an item in the catalog that has fallen below the limit level set for the individual product.
From the drop down, you have the option to display a message if the inventory on hand falls below the limit level you have set for your product. If you choose to display the message, you can customize the message that you would like displayed. There are four setting available to limit levels that will affect the behavior of the website:
None – This will not affect the behavior of the website. If you have limit levels set up, this will ensure that the website does not use those settings.
Display Message – This will display the message that you set up for when a item reaches its limit level. It will not prevent sales of the item, it will just warn the customer/distributor that the item is out of stock and will be on back order until inventory is received.
Disable Sales – This will remove the item from the shopping cart once the limit level is reached. The customer/distributor will not be able to see this item in the cart until it is back in stock. It will also prevent the customer/distributor from purchasing enough quantity to bring it below the limit level.
Warn and Disable Sales – This will prevent the sale of the item once the limit level is reached and will also display a message. It does not remove the item from the cart once it has reached the limit level, but instead allows the user to see the item but they cannot purchase it and are advised that it is out of stock.
The limit level can be set up for both an individual product and a product combination.
