Password Requirements:

1. It must be at least eight characters in length.

2. It must contain at least two alphabetic characters.

3. It must contain at least two numeric characters.

Password Recommendations:

1. Special characters (*,#,$,etc) should be used to strengthen passwords.

2. Passwords should not contain easily obtainable personal information, such as: license plate, social security, telephone numbers, etc.

3. Change passwords at least semi-annually, or more frequently as needed to maintain password security. Refrain from resubmitting previously used passwords.

4. Create a unique UserName/Password for every system user.

Password Best-Practices:

1. Do not let anyone else know or use your password

2. For optimum security, don’t write your password down. If you must write it down, keep it somewhere private such as in a locked drawer. Don’t include the name of the system or the associated UserName with the password.

3. If you suspect that someone else may know your current password, change your password immediately.

4. Change your password periodically, even if it hasn’t been compromised.
