Display Categories

Display Categories are used by the ES 100 orders, web site shopping cart, extranet shopping cart, and the party plan extranet order entry system (if applicable).  A display category is created and then sub categories are created.

Products are displayed according to the category /sub category hierarchy.  As a standard, a single product can display in up to five (5) sub categories simultaneously.  Display category and sub category names should establish an organizational convention relevant to the products.  You can set up an unlimited number of categories and sub categories.

It is not necessary to set up display categories prior to creating products.  This can be done at any time and category and sub category names can be changed real-time at any time.  The “General” display category and “General” sub category are standard default categories in the ES 100.

To set up a Category click Company Tab, click ES100 Setup, click Inventory, click Categories.  A list of existing display categories will display in the screen.  Click Create Category.  Enter the name of the category and the display order. Click Save.  The category will now display in the list.
