You can change the current price of a product at anytime. If you are changing a price for an inventory item that has been included in previous orders, you must expire the existing price first or set a future expiration date on the current price and then establish a new price with a start date which is after the expiration date of the current price. Price changes can be made individually for each active rank-price.
To change a price click Inventory Tab. From the list click on the Product Name. You will be at the product profile screen, under the heading “Combinations” click on the combination under Detail 1 (this will typically be “None”). You will be at the price summary screen.
This screen lists the rank-prices for this specific combination. If you are changing all prices for this combination, you can click on the Expire button on the left-navigation. If you are only changing one rank-price, click on the specific rank to open the price detail screen. Click the Expire button.
*Note: if attempting to edit a price, and it displays in grey, as shown above, the price will not be able to be edited. At this point the price record has been used on an order and will need to be expired.
Once the price is expired you can enter a new price. From the price summary screen, click New Price. Enter the new price information and select the appropriate ranks that the price will apply to. Click Save. Remember there can only be one active price for a rank at a time. If you click Save and get a validation message that an active price already exist for a rank, expire the active price first, then enter the price.
Notice that when you navigate to the Inventory Item Prices screen only the Active prices are shown. Click the Display Expired Prices link to view all of the Prices ever created for this product.
If certain International functionality is enabled in your system, a Multi-Currency drop-down filter will be displayed on the Inventory Item Prices screen. Use this drop-down to display only an individual currency price for this product on this screen.
