The Translations tool in ES100 allows you to modify the terminology used for your distributor labels on the Back Office Extranet. This allows for consistency of language used between your website, documents and your distributors’ back offices.
ES100 > Company Tab > Multi-language > Translations
Data To Translate:
- Static Data = data that is always present on the page and does not change depending on database/client (example, verbiage like ‘Street number’, ‘Phone number’, etc.)
- Reference = dynamic data, text that is pulled from the database and is table driven
Page/Location:
- The drop-down menu provides the user the various page locations to translate
Translation Type:
- Short description (default)
- Long= more descriptive fields
Translation Groups:
- Set up the translation language per locale. Example: Spanish=Argentine, Spanish= Spain, France=French, Canada= French.
- These will also control the date/time stamp configuration
Start with setting up Translation Groups
- es100 > Company tab >Multi-Language > Translation Groups
- Click “New.”
Next, manage the locales the translation group will be controlling:
Click “Add” to add and if you want to remove, click the red “X.”
To Begin Translating
Select the Translation Group and Page/Location:
Type in your translation word/sentence. Click “Update” for the text to be updated in real time.
If there is more than one translation group, the pages/text can be edited at the same time (as shown below). Check the “Blank” box underneath the translation field to save an empty translation. Click “Update” to save your changes.
